Job Description: Warehouse worker and Fork lift operator. Will perform daily duties according to management while complying with all safety rules and procedures.
The Warehouse worker duties include (but are not limited to):
- Safely operate the fork lift and all other daily use equipment within the confines of BRC property.
- Controlling access to the facility by locking areas/entrances not in direct use and by challenging all non-BRC personnel that attempt to enter the facility. All visitors must follow the TSA approved visitor process.
- Keep work areas clean from debris to provide a safe working environment for you and your team mates.
- Perform daily and weekly maintenance checklists on all equipment on paperwork provided by management.
- Load and unload trucks arriving at BRC dock with full Over, Short & Damage (OS&D) process being completed and sent to Dispatch for processing.
- All freight unloaded is to be labelled and stored in appropriate areas.
- Prep daily route freight with assistance from dispatch. Communicate with Dispatch any oversize or damaged freight as well as routes that look to be too large (volume-wise) back to Dispatch
- Reweigh and dimension all freight being pickup by route drivers and communicate that info to Dispatch for processing.
- Improve dispatch/warehouse communication and information flow.
- Provide feedback on warehouse operations that enable better revenue capture, including packing materials/labor that enables more effective billing of our customer.
- Managing the warehouse email with professional and courteous responses.
- Reporting all HazMat arrivals ASAP to ensure that we are compliant
- Trash Management. Duties include ensuring driver cooperation and assistance in minimizing the effective volume of our trash such that the dumpsters are efficiently used, and ensuring that the team uses the appropriate dumpsters, and breaks down trash as appropriate. (Cardboard recycling).
- Warehouse must be organized and kept in a manner that would warrant a customer visit. Key elements: freight tightened, squared up, and organized with labels facing outward for easy assessment, trash levels low, floor swept, truck area clean and without debris.
Skills/Qualifications: Must be fork lift certified and comfortable with using a computer to assist with daily tasks. Additional skills required include: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
